The picture makes it look worse that it really is? :? There is a way to tilt the cartridge head using the screw below the thumbscrew holding the headshell into the tonearm. Don't know the 1000 and maybe its different, but the lack of automatic is a grease problem in the 900 series. UPSIDE? the V-15 is sounding VERY nice on Funkadelic's Maggot Brain. The V-15 B - I was produced / OEMed for BIC Industries, permenately moutned in the headshell and unfortunately NOT removable :? Ventures into some AK posts confirms this OEM cartridge. She must have known cause more fiddling, button pushing and general old grease abuse / busting, discovered that she now works MANUALLY. so actually broke down and bought one. :) :) :) :)ĭidn't think I was making any headway, searched and searched on the I net for a free Service Manual, no luck. and I believe I'm listening to the real deal Shure V-15 Type III.albeit BIC style. "Fiddling about, fiddling about.I'm your wicked Unc." :) and picked up a few LP too.always wanted Creedence "Put A Spell On You".sounding GREAT on Sys 1. have too many turntables.:)įred and she's apart w/ old tired sticky grease, a previous service has eliminated the automatic features (drive gear gone from the end of the tt spindle) the synchronous 24 pole 300 RPM motor is just vibrating but will see what a little TLC can do. you can never be too skinny, too rich and in the operating philosophy of VE.    with VN 35E stylus. :) YES, a SHURE square body V-15 Type III-B I. Well, thinking back to the VE assessment of the BIC tts, I decide to pass on this one until I spied the cartridge. This time a BIC 1000 Electronic with Owner's Manual (yes, JaS a scan coming) stored / abandoned 15 years ago into the attic. Labeled as borderline "hoarder" by my own daughter, another garage sale, another turntable.
